The UCODE HSL IC (UCODE High Frequency Smart Label) is a dedicated chip for passive smart labels, which is particularly suited for supply chain management and logistics applications in the United States, where effective working distances of several meters can be achieved. In addition, the UCODE HSL technology platform is compliant with European regulations.
The IC is the first in a family of smart label ICs designed to comply with future ISO 18000-4 and 18000-6 standards for item management.
The UCODE system offers the possibility of simultaneous operation of tags within the range of the reader's antenna (anti-collision, collision arbitration).
The UCODE HSL series of integrated circuits is designed for long-range applications.
The tag requires no internal power supply. Its contactless interface is powered through an antenna circuit that utilizes the propagated energy transfer from the interrogator (read/write device), while the system clock is generated by an on-board oscillator. The contactless interface demodulates the data transmitted from the interrogator to the UCODE HSL-based tag and further modulates the electromagnetic field provided by the interrogator to enable data transmission from the UCODE HSL-based tag to the interrogator.
